Good Morning! The fantasy football injury report covers 7 players today, their replacements and how to view each situation from a fantasy perspective. This list is mainly players that suffered setbacks in their recovery process who were limited on Wednesday.
QB: Taysom Hill
RBs: Alvin Kamara, Alex Collins
WRs: Sterling Shepard, Rashod Bateman, Donovan Peoples-Jones
TE: Geoff Swaim
Baltimore Ravens: Rashod Bateman (WR) - I would be concerned if I am the Ravens right now. Bateman missed practice yesterday with an illness, joining Lamar Jackson on the sidelines with something that apparently isn’t COVID. Maybe the flu is going through the team, but either way they cannot afford this situation. Marquise Brown is still missing practice as well, leaving Sammy Watkins and Devin Duvernay as the guys. Watkins is on a 55/850 pace if he was healthy all season up until this point.
Cleveland Browns: Donovan Peoples-Jones (WR) - The only banged up player that made it onto the practice field on Wednesday, DJP was absent on Thursday. Landry took his place on the field, giving the team Landry and Rashard Higgins on the outside as healthy options. Landry is on a 65/675 pace this season as a short yardage/gadget player.
New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara (RB)/Taysom Hill (QB) - The electric running back returned to practice on Wednesday, but was not present yesterday. One has to wonder if he had a setback. Regardless, the team is looking at putting Mark Ingram out as RB1 in Week 11 if Alvin doesn’t recover by today. Ingram has 224 total yards on 40 touches in a three-game span since returning to the Saints. The gadget player hasn’t practiced the last two days as he deals with a foot injury. Hill plays QB, WR, RB, TE, and special teams all in one in some capacity every game. Replacing him is impossible, and Ian Book will be the backup to Siemian this week if Hill can’t play. Book is a rookie with no career NFL regular season tosses.
New York Giants: Sterling Shepard (WR) - The often-injured wideout is banged up as the team began their preparation for the Bucs this Monday. He is working out on the sidelines, but isn’t with the main club. Kadarius Toney and Darius Slayton will play behind Kenny Golladay in the game if Shepard cannot go. Toney is on a 70/850 pace this season as a rookie, a joystick in the open field.
Seattle Seahawks: Alex Collins (RB) - With Chris Carson not recovering from his injury like the team expected, the injury to Alex Collins is all the more concerning. Colins was absent from practice yesterday with a groin injury. If he cannot play in Week 11, the Seahawks will likely go with a committee approach. Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas are all similar in terms of fantasy impact. Homer may be the best of the trio, but can’t withstand the touches. He averages over six yards a carry, and is the pass catching back normally.
Tennessee Titans: Geoff Swaim (TE) - The tight end position on the Titans is a wide-open race. Swaim currently is arguably the leader in that club house, but his absence from practice yesterday with a concussion may give that slot away. Anthony Firkser is on a 30/250 pace this season, whereas MyCole Pruitt is at a 25/325 pace, and a handful of touchdowns.
