Good Morning! Today’s fantasy football injury report isn’t all that bad compared to other weeks. I am covering eight players, their replacements and how you can view each situation from a fantasy perspective.
RBs: Damien Harris, Chase Edmonds, Devontae Booker, Zack Moss, Damien Williams, Rhamondre Stevenson
WR: Darnell Mooney
TE: Jonnu Smith
Arizona Cardinals: Chase Edmonds (RB) - During the week leading up to the game there were moments where Edmonds was questionable, but he was able to drop that designation prior to game time. He would only gain three yards on one carry prior to his exit against the 49ers with an ankle injury. James Conner was able to take the bulk of the load, totaling 173 yards and three touchdowns on 26 touches. Eno Benjamin was given his first true opportunities in an NFL regular season game as well, scoring a touchdown rushing for 39 yards on nine carries.
Buffalo Bills: Zack Moss (RB) - During the contest against the Jaguars, there was a play where Moss’s helmet became ajar and he tried to finish his run. This resulted in his helmet coming off and having to leave the field of play with a concussion. Devin Singletary is the complimentary back to Moss, and the team chose to not run the ball the rest of the game. Singletary has averaged nearly five yards a carry this season. Matt Brieda is RB3, and only has four carries all season long.
Chicago Bears: Damien Williams (RB)/Darnell Mooney (WR) - Neither player was able to get a full practice in at all this week prior to the game against the Steelers tonight. Williams has already been ruled out in fact, giving way to David Montgomery to return to action. The starter has averaged 4.5 yards per carry this season and will likely split touches with Khalil Herber tonight. Mooney suffered his groin injury in practice and hopes to go at game time. Allen Robinson is WR1, and Marquise Goodwin starts in the slot. Damiere Byrd is the next option on the outside for Mooney, and Byrd only has four receptions in 2021.
New England Patriots: Damien Harris (RB)/Rhamondre Stevenson (RB)/Jonnu Smith (TE) - All three players were removed from the game against the Panthers with injuries. The pair of running backs suffered concussions, and Jonnu couldn’t play through the shoulder injury that had hampered him all week in practice. This left Brandon Bolden as the only active back on the team for the game, and he totaled 81 yards on 10 touches. JJ Taylor is the next back that will see playing time this week if neither Harris nor Stevenson can play in Week 10. Hunter Henry took the bulk of the snaps at tight end, scoring a touchdown on one of his three targets.
New York Giants: Devontae Booker (RB) - Heading into the bye week, Booker will be carrying an injury designation from a hip issue he suffered in yesterday’s game with the Raiders. He received an x-ray and wanted back in the game, but the team went with Elijhaa Penny instead. Penny totaled 27 yards on seven touches. Saquon Barkley probably makes his return to the lineup in Week 11 to be honest, he didn’t play this week due to COVID protocol and not a physical injury.
