Good Morning! The fantasy football injury report covers six players today. I go through each teams situation at the position, identify the player who will see an increase in reps/snaps/carries/touches/targets and their possible fantasy value.
QBs: Baker Mayfield, Teddy Bridgewater
RBs: Nick Chubb, Miles Sanders, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, D’Ernest Johnson
Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb (RB)/Baker Mayfield (QB)/D’Ernest Johnson (RB) - Following the MNF game against the Steelers, the coaching staff revealed that Chubb was dealing with a rib injury. This led to Johnson receiving more carries. It's unclear if Johnson will be able to play in Week 18 though, due to being placed on the COVID list yesterday. Kareem Hunt may be able to play, which will make things easier. If Hunt plays, Demetric Felton is the other back that could be RB2. Hunt was on pace for 1200 total yards if he had stayed healthy this season. Mayfield has been dealing with injuries all season long and the team is going to give him the final week off. Case Keenum will make the start, his second of the season. Earlier in the year he put up 206 total yards of offense with one touchdown against the Broncos.
Denver Broncos: Teddy Bridgewater (QB) - On a short week, Denver started practice yesterday. The team considered Teddy still not healthy enough to get on the hypothetical field in their “estimated” practice injury report. If Teddy does not get healthy by Saturday, Drew Lock will make another start. He is also limited in his own right though. Lock has been pretty conversative in his two starts, not throwing a single interception.
Kansas City Chiefs: Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB) - After not playing in Week 17, CEH was not on the practice field yesterday for the Chiefs. The team rushed well once more without him in the fold, Darrel Williams leading the way. Williams put up 107 total yards on 17 touches with two touchdowns against the Bengals. Derrick Gore also saw some touches, going for 45 yards on four touches.
Philadelphia Eagles: Miles Sanders (RB) - The Eagles are looking very light at the RB position as they prepare for the playoffs this week. Sanders is still dealing with a broken hand, being joined by Howard and Scott on the sideline yesterday. Kenneth Gainwell is the only healthy rusher at the moment. The rookie has been stealing touchdowns all season long, averaging 3.8 ypc.
