Good Morning! Today’s fantasy football injury report covers 9 players. I go through each teams depth chart at the given position, determine the likely replacement and then give you a vibe on their possible fantasy impact.
QB: Justin Fields
RBs: Tony Pollard, Mark Ingram
WRs: Marquise Brown, Diontae Johnson, Kadarius Toney, Chris Conley, Chris Moore
TE: Jordan Akins
Baltimore Ravens: Marquise Brown (WR) - The WR1 was not at practice yesterday after being at 100% on Wednesday, indicating something of serious concern. Brown is dealing with an ankle injury and this setback could really hamper their playoff chances. If Brown cannot go this weekend, Rashod Bateman and Sammy Watkins become the top two targets. Bateman was the #1 target last week and is on a 70/750 pace as a rookie (if he hadn’t missed time earlier in the year).
Chicago Bears: Justin Fields (QB) - I feel like this all but rules Fields out for this weekend against the Vikings. The rookie was questionable going into the week and had missed the last two weeks with injuries. He was placed on the COVID list. Andy Dalton will be the likely starter, coming off of a week where he totaled 187 yards of offense and completed a mere 51% of his passes.
Dallas Cowboys: Tony Pollard (RB) - As the Cowboys prepare for Week 18 against the Eagles, Pollard has been unable to go 100% at any point. Hes still dealing with an injured foot that has caused him some trouble over the final month of the regular season. Last week it was clear that it affected him, receiving only six touches in total. If this continues, I could see Corey Clement getting a handful of touches once more.
Houston Texans: Chris Conley (WR)/Chris Moore (WR)/Jordan Akins (TE) - These three players did not practice yesterday, the latter two due to injuries. If Conley nor Moore can play, I expect Danny Amendola to be the WR3 behind Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. Amendola has been in/out of the lineup all season but is still the same reliable possession wide receiver. Danny is on a 40/325 pace this year (if he had stayed healthy). As far as the TE position is concerned, Akins has not been as utilized as of late as he had been in earlier weeks. Pharoah Brown and Brevin Jordan are splitting snaps. Jordan is on a 45/375 pace as a rookie (if he was active in all games).
New Orleans Saints: Mark Ingram (RB) - The veteran rusher seems to have had a setback in practice going from limited to a non-participant yesterday. If he cannot go this week once more, I expect Tony Jones to back up Alvin Kamara once more. Jones has struggled this season with an inefficient 2.6 ypc.
New York Giants: Kadarius Toney (WR) - With the 1st round pick on the mend, the Giants are digging deep at the WR position. Toney went from a limited participant to absent from practice yesterday. Kenny Golladay and possibly Pharoah Cooper or David Sills will see targets in the contest this upcoming week. Cooper and Sills have combined for only two receptions the last three weeks of the season.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Diontae Johnson (WR) - Despite their playoff hopes being on the line, it seems Pittsburgh will be without their WR1 as Johnson was placed into COVID protocol yesterday. Chase Claypool and James Washington will be expected to take the lead at the position. Claypool is on a 65/1075 pace this season.
