Good Morning! As practices are coming to a close soon and training camp over for the most part, injuries are only trickling in to report on. I go over two injury situations from yesterday and the fantasy impact of each.
RB: Giovani Bernard
WR: Dezmon Patmon
Indianapolis Colts: Dezmon Paton (WR) - As it stands right now, the Colts currently have five WRs on the roster after Patmon hit the IR with a foot injury. This will thrust Parris Campbell into a starting role alongside Michael Pittman and Zach Pascal. Behind Campbell are Mike Strachan, the team's 7th round pick and Ashton Dulin. Strachan had 10 receptions for 130 yards in three games, whereas Dulin had 2 for 7 through two games.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Giovani Bernard (RB) - A sneaky player for PPR leagues that fantasy owners may have overlooked; Bernard is poised to have a great year in a pseudo-Patriots style offense in Tampa. He is supposedly going to take a “James White-esq" role with the Brady led squad. However, on Thursday he was not at practice due to a high ankle sprain, He is expected to play in Week One, but it will be monitored. He is purely a pass catching back, with Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette leading the way as the bell cows. Fournette averaged 10 touches a game for 46 yards. Jones on the other hand had 15 for 82. Ke’Shawn Vaughn is the RB4 who will possibly suit up if Bernard isn’t healthy for the opener. Vaughn had three touches a game last season for just over 13 yards a tilt.
